Batman brings the Joker back to Arkham Asylum after another capture, but something feels wrong. It was too easy. Moments after arrival, the Joker escapes, seals the island and releases the inmates, leaving Batman trapped inside with Gotham's most dangerous criminals.
With help from Commissioner Gordon and Oracle, Batman fights through the asylum's medical wing, penitentiary and botanical gardens, facing Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Bane and some of the most famous Scarecrow nightmare sequences in gaming, all while uncovering the Joker's real plan.
Arkham Asylum introduced the Freeflow combat system, a rhythmic, counter-based style of fighting that countless games copied afterward. Predator rooms let Batman stalk armed thugs from the gargoyles, and Detective Mode and the Riddler's hidden challenges reward exploring every corner.
