Borderlands drops four Vault Hunters onto Pandora, a lawless planet on the edge of the galaxy. Legend says an alien Vault filled with unimaginable treasure and technology lies hidden somewhere on its surface, and a mysterious voice called the Guardian Angel guides them toward it.
Roland the soldier, Lilith the siren, Mordecai the hunter and Brick the berserker fight through bandit camps, desert towns and wildlife that wants to eat them, with the cheerful robot Claptrap never far behind.
Borderlands blended first-person shooting with RPG loot and leveling, and its procedurally generated weapons meant there was always a better gun around the corner. Its cel-shaded art style still holds up, and the campaign supports two-player split-screen and four-player online co-op.
