Six months after the Lightmass Bombing, the Locust Horde is sinking entire cities beneath the surface of Sera. With humanity's last stronghold of Jacinto under threat, the Coalition of Ordered Governments launches an all-out offensive, and Sergeant Marcus Fenix leads Delta Squad straight into the Locust's underground home.
Along the way Dom Santiago searches for his missing wife Maria, in one of the most talked-about moments of the Xbox 360 era. The campaign is bigger and more varied than the original, from riding Brumaks and driving through collapsing caverns to fighting inside the body of a massive Riftworm.
Gears of War 2 introduced Horde mode, where up to five players hold off fifty increasingly brutal waves of Locust. It became one of the most copied modes in gaming. The cover-based combat, chainsaw duels and the two-player co-op campaign, available split-screen or online, make it a couch co-op essential on Xbox 360.
